ANNUAL ABSTRACT ACCOUNT, 1939.

REPORT of the DIRECTOR OF COLONIAL AUDIT on the

Account of HONG KONG for the year ended the 31st

of December, 1939.

As certified thereon, the above mentioned

Account, together with the Statement of Assets and

Liabilities on the 31st of December, 1939, has been

examined under my directions.

2. With reference to paragraph 4 of my report

on the Account of Hong Kong for the year ended the

31st of December, 1938, the Auditor informs me that

the following departmental balances, which were

included in the asset "Cash, Current Account No.1

$1,137,216.16" in the Statement of Assets and

Liabilities at the 31st of December, 1939, were not

verified at the close of the year by Boards of Survey:

Medical Department

$586.50

Registrar, Supreme Court $24.89.

3. The Auditor informs me that at the time of

writing his report he had not examined certain parcel

and air mail accounts with other Postal Administrations

for the year 1939.
